What else happened during this dumb bullshit second round of bullshit dumb games?
TOP SEVEN STUDS, ROUND OF 32
OWNER | ROUND | SELECTION | PLAYER | TEAM | SEED | GAME2_SCORE | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Jake | 2 | 11 | Ja Morant | Murray State Racers | 12 | 58 |
2 | James | 1 | 2 | Brandon Clarke | Gonzaga Bulldogs | 1 | 53 |
3 | Chris | 8 | 76 | Amir Coffey | Minnesota Golden Gophers | 10 | 51 |
4 | Gavin | 1 | 1 | Zion Williamson | Duke Blue Devils | 1 | 45 |
5 | Jake | 3 | 30 | Carsen Edwards | Purdue Boilermakers | 3 | 45 |
6 | Luke | 4 | 37 | Payton Pritchard | Oregon Ducks | 12 | 44 |
7 | Stu | 3 | 28 | Dedric Lawson | Kansas Jayhawks | 4 | 36 |
Jake got two excellent games out of Ja, which is all a reasonable man could expect. First-rounders Clarke and Zion had big games, and one of them should be a goat for missing a game-tying free throw but instead everybody acts like he carried the team on his back to victory. Well, guess what asshole, the NCAA is profiting off your image and you can't do shit about it! And your university cheated to get federal research grants, bitch! Also bowing out was Chris' goofy-haired Minnesota guard, who shouldered all of the Gophers' scoring as my Minnesota forward had to sit out with back spasms.
TOP SEVEN DUDS, ROUND OF 32
OWNER | ROUND | SELECTION | PLAYER | TEAM | SEED | GAME2_SCORE | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Dan | 7 | 66 | Jordan Murphy | Minnesota Golden Gophers | 10 | 1.5 |
2 | Alison | 1 | 7 | Rui Hachimura | Gonzaga Bulldogs | 1 | 8.0 |
3 | Luke | 3 | 24 | Ignas Brazdeikis | Michigan Wolverines | 2 | 8.0 |
4 | Dan | 6 | 55 | Kenny Williams | North Carolina Tar Heels | 1 | 8.0 |
5 | Alison | 3 | 27 | Keldon Johnson | Kentucky Wildcats | 2 | 10.0 |
6 | Dan | 3 | 26 | Kyle Guy | Virginia Cavaliers | 1 | 12.0 |
7 | Stu | 4 | 33 | Matt Mooney | Texas Tech Red Raiders | 3 | 13.0 |
Yeah man, he had to sit out so much he only earned 1.5 points. So instead of reaping the benefit of picking a bonus player who has two games worth of stats, I get the not benefit of picking a dude who plays one game. I may as well have taken a chump from Prairie View A&M. Also not great: my guy from UNC and Guy from UVA. Alison also earns the distinction of having more than one dude on this shit list.
Fun fact: the highest-scoring non-bonus player going into the Sweet Sixteen is Jake's Carsen Edwards! This plot also reminds us that Stu's PJ Washington has yet to play a single second of this tournament.
Alright then, let's see the standings:
Jake still leads, but is down to 3 men: Michigan State's good guard, Purdue's Edwards, and VT's Blackshear Jr.
Gav has 2 UNC role players. One has totaled over 20 per game, and the other has averaged 16 per game. Wow! And his VT guy has more points than his Zag.
Alison has 7 still active, and her highest scorers have been Houston's Davis Jr, averaging 35 fantasy points a game, and King from Oregon, averaging right around 30.
Chris has UNC's top scorer, a Michigan St guy, and Tennessee's Bone Zone remaining. All three owners above him have players from those teams, and it's quite unlikely he'll be able to move anywhere but down in the standings.
Stu has 4 players left, and 3 are Red Raiders. If his Kentucky guy returns as a dominant force and Tech makes the final, sure, Stu's still alive.
Luke has 6 players left, including Oregon's top scorer. Those bonus points would be good. Maybe I'm just tired, but I don't see a way for Luke to come out on top, except maybe for an Oregon/Michigan final.
Dan also has lots of guys but not much hope. Needs Virginia to beat UNC, and Florida State to get to the final, and probably lots of other stuff.
Shawn also has a Florida State guy, so that and Tennessee could move him up in the standings. Yep, gettin' pretty tired over here. His Florida State player is so tall, though. Very tall, good job Shawn, we'll see you next year.
James: players left from LSU, Gonzaga, and Houston. Lots of upsets and an LSU / Houston final would be pretty improbable. His Houston guy is not performing very well - Alison's Cougar is getting all the points for that squad.
Bob is playing the long UVA game with me, and I think we can both agree that it pretty much stinks. A slow pace for those Cavaliers, you know.
