The lease is up. It's official.
(I have a clear memory of listening to that song on my imitation-brand Walkman, during the morning bus ride, as we rode toward the Woodard's house.)
With this arrangement comes a pet cat, Doby. With the exception of his 10-foot fall from the loft, it has been a smooth transition for him. He is now equally at home on the floor
on the ottoman
and on the couch.

eeee!
Did Doby get confused during a rowdy game of loft ball or something?
Stair Ball.
We believe he simply slipped while exploring. After a magnificent thud, he walked to the middle of the room and laid down like nothing happened.
nice... somehow i had completely blocked that song out of my memory. or perhaps jagr'ed it out.
good luck you crazy kids...

this is quite possibly the best post i've ever seen. and i'm pretty sure, if he's named after the character in harry potter, it's dobby. but correct me if i'm wrong. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dobby_the_house_elf#Dobby
The Humane Society misspelled the name, and Kim chose to keep that version. You would be surprised to know how many times people have asked to clarify things. It turns out those Harry Potter books are very, very popular.
Doh Doby!
So I've got my roommate reading your blog. And now she wants to play a rowdy game stair ball.
I remember back when I saved Doby from a tough life on the Lawrence streets. Now you've got him falling from lofts? Come on.
Every bit of this is great news.the lease, the cat, the nine lives, that the progressively provocative cat poses left me wanting more... Happy sofa!
