I mean, I watched Jamal Mashburn face off with Christian Laettner back in 1992, and I would love to rewatch that game now to see if it was as good as the Virginia/Purdue game. Jake's boy Carsen Edwards hit ten goddamn threes and scored 40.This...this was one of the greatest weekends in college basketball history.— CBS Sports (@CBSSports) March 31, 2019
And sure, Laettner's shot is historic, but it was drawn up after a timeout. This crazy fucking thing was so fucking crazy I, alone in my basement, shrieked when the ball went in.Fact: Carsen Edwards put on one of the greatest shows in NCAA Tournament history. pic.twitter.com/2WusY5bDR4— CBS Sports (@CBSSports) March 31, 2019
This little exchange going into overtime was also pure sex:MARCH MADNESS IS THE GREATEST THING IN THE WORLD pic.twitter.com/TUQchKqswO— CBS Sports (@CBSSports) March 31, 2019

So yeah, that game was good, and the others were also good! Bruce Pearl, can you believe that no one drafted any Auburn players?
Do you ever want this NCAA Tournament to end? pic.twitter.com/MOLSQLOolB— CBS Sports (@CBSSports) March 31, 2019
Me neither!
TOP SEVEN STUDS - ELITE EIGHT
OWNER | ROUND | SELECTION | PLAYER | TEAM | SEED | GAME4_SCORE | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Gavin | 1 | 1 | Zion Williamson | Duke Blue Devils | 1 | 41 |
2 | Stu | 1 | 8 | PJ Washington | Kentucky Wildcats | 2 | 40 |
3 | Jake | 3 | 30 | Carsen Edwards | Purdue Boilermakers | 3 | 40 |
4 | Bob | 2 | 18 | Ty Jerome | Virginia Cavaliers | 1 | 35 |
5 | Jake | 1 | 10 | Cassius Winston | Michigan State Spartans | 2 | 34 |
6 | Dan | 3 | 26 | Kyle Guy | Virginia Cavaliers | 1 | 34 |
7 | Alison | 5 | 47 | Xavier Tillman | Michigan State Spartans | 2 | 33 |
Edwards scored 42 and had 2 rebounds, but his 4 turnovers put him at 40, just under Zion and alongside Stu's PJ Washington, who finally balled out just in time to be eliminated. Jake got a big performance from his MSU guard Winston, Alison's MSU guy was also good, and my UVA Guy got hot. Not listed are any Texas Tech players, but Culver was just outside the top 7 and they live to see another day.
TOP SEVEN DUDS - ELITE EIGHT
OWNER | ROUND | SELECTION | PLAYER | TEAM | SEED | GAME4_SCORE | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Bob | 8 | 78 | Braxton Key | Virginia Cavaliers | 1 | 1 |
2 | Bob | 3 | 23 | Nick Ward | Michigan State Spartans | 2 | 11 |
3 | Luke | 5 | 44 | Ryan Cline | Purdue Boilermakers | 3 | 11 |
4 | Shawn | 2 | 12 | Tre Jones | Duke Blue Devils | 1 | 13 |
5 | Luke | 2 | 17 | Cam Reddish | Duke Blue Devils | 1 | 13 |
6 | Shawn | 4 | 32 | Tyler Herro | Kentucky Wildcats | 2 | 16 |
7 | Luke | 6 | 57 | Reid Travis | Kentucky Wildcats | 2 | 16 |
I still do not know who Braxton Key is, and I assume Bob did not know much about Virginia's rotations before he drafted him. They played Jack Salt a lot against Purdue, but I'm pretty sure he would have also been a terrible draft pick. Cam Reddish played for Luke Duke, but who cares, they're both done. PRETENDER STATUS: CONFIRMED!
Let's get to the leaderboard!
2 games left, folks. Jake and Alison both have Michigan State players, so Alison can't make up any ground. Jake's guy could break both legs tonight and Keldon Johnson still couldn't total 72 points in two games.
So that leaves Stu, who has Mooney, Owens, and Culver from Tech. If MSU loses and Winston has a bad night, Jake plateaus around 715. To get to that number, Stu needs 142 points with 3 players in 2 games. 142/6 = 24. All these Red Raiders need to score 24 points per game.
Mamma Mia, Jake is a-gonna win!
